"I have a chicken now"
Brit, I loved your backstory too
Clarify: BEES RUN!
Once we got back to staff center I quoted Mike: “Owwww, fuck!” (Every time he gets a tattoo)
Sneaking into the forbidden part of the sacred lands without permission (with a staff guide) was awesome. Just the type of shenanigans plot I always wanted.
SHE’S A WITCH!!!
Everything to do with Cory and Jon Washer
Fathom. Is. So. Much. Fun.
I loved the late night fight at the invocation. That was amazing.
I know that at the end of this game I’m going to be going through all of these forum posts looking for summaries of what actually happened at an event so here’s what happened from a skarventaa perspective:
We arrived in town after being lost for several weeks. We traveled into town with Chanterelle, Avery, and I think two ostene and one other person whose names I can’t remember. Along the path we got our first glimpse of a fire elemental, which we fought. It turns out fire elementals really ruin my day and can knock me out with a single hit - I was lucky I wasn’t near it when it burst into flame, which it did whenever it felt surrounded or someone got too close.
We removed some dancing flame from it that we discovered in town was “somewhat alive”. Creepy. I wonder if other groups had a similar experience.
The rest of the night was spent being shown around town by Levinson I think his name was.
First thing we noticed right away was that the shrine was in fact a skarventaa goblet. Or perhaps that our goblets are in fact shrines. We began investigating that with Mike’s awesome skarventaa character whose name I forgot. The shrine in town doesn’t appear to bloom with skarflower like the ones at home do, but we think we could fix that. It might draw prey, though. Why is there a goblet in Brink? Why isn’t it blooming? How do we fix that and what happens when we do?
I feel like there were pirates in town who stole from Caeden ruins, but I don’t think that we fought with them at this point. Was this the night where the diseased girl walked into town or was that later? I heard about it second hand long after the fact. Pickpockets were out in force getting everybody. It was epidemic.
We had a meeting with the gods where they talked of gaining a foothold in the Origin and needing our help to secure and guard three artifacts.
Saturday started with breakfast, where I was given a fork by Steph’s character Salome which saved my morning so I didn’t have to RP eating my breakfast with my hands. I’m just not that dedicated and I needed that save.
There was a nature walk where we learned how to find components.
There was a bit of a scuffle with the caeden pirates, and then a skar nature romp where we specifically went out to pick flowers for a purification ritual. We collected all the borderflowers and got stung by lots of hornets. Real hornets. In confusion, we traded some of the flowers to Dom’s skar character who traded them to the endless hunt who were using them for the same ritual. AWKWARD.
At some point the Yerubi and Cintainn came into town to announce two of their notable noble families of some sort were getting married. That caused some drama too but I don’t exactly remember who was displeased and whether we fought over it. I think it was the guys who were in town looking for the Dragon who burned people alive. I think I kept thinking they were the pirates. It was confusing.
We went on missions throughout the night to recover artifacts for the gods. One was fighting against furry prey with glowing teeth. The second one was a puzzle that involved fighting mechanical men. The third was a puzzle that involved manipulating puppets - the prophets foretold that there would be no combat until the artifact was obtained so we sent only squishy folk to get it and that backfired when the puppets broke free once the artifact was obtained, and attacked.
I know the artifacts included an iron crown and a skull but I can’t remember the third. It may have been a leather crown. I’m not super sure. I don’t remember which mod was attached to which artifact.
That night we also performed a purification ritual on Caeden artifacts. I forget how we came by the artifacts, but I know they were stolen from “pirates” - smugglers who brave the ruins to obtain rare and valuable artifacts to sell on the black market. We used Borderflowers to divest them of the plague they bore.
That night we had a sausage fest and the food was amazing, especially the cheese sausages someone had. Fantastic. It was kind of on and off as people drifted in and out of sleep.
Guarding the caeden artifacts from pirates bent on reclaiming them, guarding the shrine and the origin artifacts from anything that sought to remove them, culminated in a fight with this guy with burn scars who wanted to get us for harboring an individual by the name of the Dragon who burned his people alive in the war. At the end of the fight, this individual prophesized that Monica’s Yehrubi Queen was in fact a witch!!! Gasps!!! Steve’s character gave a speech about not needing the gods or something that we couldn’t hear from the porch because of the rain and then game off was called.
Help me fill in the blanks! What did I miss? Or misspell? Or not have a name for?
